Dominica at Last!

We arrived in Dominica early Monday morning and settled into our host community of Bense. After a morning of orientation and games we explored the village, introduced ourselves to local friends and took off for a hike to the beach later that afternoon. We ended the day with a Welcome BBQ at Kabuli Bar where we ate grilled chicken and fresh fish.

Today we began two different community service projects. Half of the group went to paint the house of a local man, Cecil, while the other half applied primer on the house of Myrtle, a woman in the neighboring village.

In the afternoon we cooled off at the beach after lunch. Looking forward to another enjoyable and productive day tomorrow!
